premise

Maybe you're having a normal day, minding your own business. Maybe you're in a moment of crisis, a time when your world needs you most.
Too bad your old life doesn't matter now. You have been chosen. A dark void appears, so dark no light can escape. A cage of metallic goo erupts from it, liquid tentacles reaching out from the abyss and dragging you through. As the air is pulled from your lungs, you get a glimpse of the void between worlds, endless bright nothing, the only color a black spot in the far distance. The coldness that seeps into your bones drags you into unconsciousness just as an impossibly large dark shape looms.
When you wake up, you're surrounded by an endless city, made of concrete and steel and techno-organic overgrowth. Like a cancer, the city has metastasized infinitely in every direction, even stretching far above, blocking the view of the sky. You are now enclosed in a dizzying, Escher-like prison, with no exit in sight. Ishtar, the AI in charge, tells you the city's name is Uruk.
In the labyrinthian megastructure untold perils roam: dangerous cybernetic beings, hostile aliens, threats from other dimensions, rogue AI, monsters made of corrupted flesh. Worst of all: sections of the city are plagued by nanites that mutate all organic matter in their path. Your only protection? The techno-organic implants now installed in your body, capable of providing a suit that shields you - and are capable of far more, if you embrace the alien devices that have threaded themselves through your flesh.
Guided by an AI that may not have your best interests at heart, your only respite from the endless maze of danger will be the equally dangerous missions in myriad dimensions, where a strange corrupting influence and unknown threat is waging a war on many worlds. Your only chance at answers about this threat and your forced conscription lay in the depths of the megastructure that has claimed you.
Scavenge for supplies. Defend your fragile existence from the threats of the city. Explore and discover the secrets of the city's creation. Find out the truth of the connection between the endless megalopolis and the deadly force threatening dimensions.
Delve into the deep. Uruk's dark heart is calling you.
「ABOUT THE GAME」
Anaplasia is a sci-fi/horror mission game, with influences from Blame, Knights of Sidonia, and the Destiny video game series, as well as classic sci-fi/horror like Aliens, Event Horizon, and the Thing. The game will have elements of action, exploration, survival horror, body horror, and transhumanism. Meant to evoke sci fi games of DWRP past, where missions, survival, and exploration of the core setting are equally key, investigation of the characters' surroundings will lead to ongoing revelations that will change everything they think they know, as well as lead to occasional huge status quo shifts.
「SHORT FACTS」
⌲ Comm-based Jamjar: Characters will start in a habitable section of the Omni-city of Uruk, but can potentially relocate their base to other locations they discover based on circumstances - and may have to, depending on how they handle certain threats. The only limitation on relocation is that they stick to other "base" areas, or otherwise make the move infrequent. They also can't split the party - the AI has created a mental bond to force them back in each other's vicinity.
⌲ Characters Accepted: Panfandom. OCs, AUs, Fandom OCs, tabletop characters, and CRAUs will face more scrutiny and be allowed in under a more limited basis than fandom characters. CRAUs can only have the history of one past game.
⌲ Genre and Setting: Sci fi horror, action/adventure, exploration, survival horror, body horror, and transhumanism. Some plots may focus more on sci fi and others may focus more on horror, allowing focus on and respite from both. There will also occasionally be a reprieve from horror elements during missions, which can sometimes take place in settings with other genres (like fantasy), as well take place in settings based on specific canons. However, stakes will often still be high, and consequences on missions can be dire. Missions will sometimes have fail states and players need to be prepared for circumstances to sometimes be traumatizing or at least dire to characters.
⌲ Plot-Heavy: Mod plot and player plot-focused, but will allow some event plots. Plots will go in cycles of 1 large plot every 2-3 months (depending on plot size), with rest times and smaller events in between. More casual player-run expeditions can happen between plots, with the mods supplying supply caches, enemies, and details of discovery, but the players involved must be prepared to do slightly more of the npcing. Mod plots will rotate between mission-based or taking place in Uruk, though more will take place in Uruk.
⌲ Power Nerfing: All canon powers will be nerfed. Players can choose combinations of powers from the different implants. Being powerless is also an option as characters will discover powerful weapons in the megastructure or can bring it back from mission worlds.
⌲ Character Death: There is a revival mechanism, but it's deeply unreliable, painful, and has drastic temporary consequences for a character. Players also have a cap of only 2 revives and characters won't ICly know if they'll successfully revive the 2 times. Please see the deaths page for more details.
⌲ Player/Character Cap: Starting player cap is 30 players, there is no total character cap, and character cap per player is 4 characters. If the head mod finds enough co-mods, player cap will be extended to 40. To allow the mods to manage player needs in such a plot-heavy game, some plots with heavy npcing will have limited sign ups, where players with multiple characters can only sign up 1 character to the plot, or to a specific part of a plot, at a time.
⌲ Where to Check the Cap: You can see how much of the cap is filled on the app or reserves page.
